A Philadelphia judge has blocked the firing of Bill Marimow as Editor-in-Chief of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The dispute settled in the courtroom by Judge Patricia McInerney made public the bitter brawl between wealthy newspaper co-owners George Norcross and Lewis Katz. Marimow, a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter, had the support of Katz. He was fired in early October by publisher Bob Hall over 'philosophical differences'. Marimow testified he was let go because he refused to fire several veteran editors. Katz accused Hall of bowing to Norcross's wishes. The co-owners pledged to stay out of the newsroom when the bought the newspaper.

Police made an arrest in a “Knockout Game” attack in Fox Chase. Officers spotted a teenager near Rhawn Street and Verree Road who fit the description of one of the suspects in the attack. The 15-year-old was charged with charged with Aggravated Assault, Criminal Conspiracy and related charges. The attack happened Monday, November 11th on the 7900 block of Verree Road. 29-year-old Mark Cumberland was walking into Verree Pizza when he was approached by a young white male who asked him for a cigarette. As Cumberland was handing over a cigarette he was jumped by four white males. Two white females were also there. They repeatedly kicked and punch him before fleeing.
