It looks like the PA state Senate will consider a major transportation spending proposal now that the House signaled that it would support it. Governor Tom Corbett supports the bill that would raise gasoline taxes and motorist fees to pump an extra $2.3 billion into roads, bridges and transit systems. If passed, it would be the second largest tax increase in PA history.

A new waterfront high-rise won approval yesterday to put a 292 foot tower with apartments and two gyms on Columbus Boulevard at Callowhill Street. Waterfront Renaissance Associates, part of Carl Marks Real Estate will start the first of four stages of construction next year. The project hopes to gain LEED Gold Certification – a measurement of environmental friendliness.

Sports
Tonight the 76ers host the Toronto Raptors.

Weather
Partly cloudy today. 48 in Center City.
