The 20th Annual GORE-TEX Philadelphia Marathon is set to run this Sunday morning around the city of Philadelphia. Preparations are being finalized as tens of thousands of people are coming into the city to participate in the weekend long festivities. Race organizers expect there to be 30,000 racers and 60,000 spectators along the 26.2 mile race course that center on the Ben Franklin Parkway but snakes through Center City and along the river. Security will also be very tight with only clear bags allowed in the race area. The Philadelphia Eagles will bring additional traffic to the city as they play at home at 1 pm. Leave enough time if you plan to travel to these events and expect road closures. Check SEPTA's website for all of their detours. The weather looks like it will be nice and mild for all the runners on Sunday morning.

Here are some guidelines for race day:
- Runners should arrive by 5 a.m. for entry to the start-finish line areas.
- Runners should plan ahead, allowing time to get through designated entry checkpoints.
- The start of the race will not be delayed due to lines at security checkpoints.
- Runners should have their race bibs fastened and visible on the front of their jerseys at arrival.
- Spectators are strongly discouraged from carrying bags.
- Only clear bags will be allowed within the race areas, which will be subject to inspection.
- Only clear plastic Marathon-issued bags will be accepted at the runners' Gear Check.
- Runners should arrive with the event-issued gear check tag (top of bib tear-off strip) affixed to their bags.
- No backpacks or satchels of any kind will be allowed (exceptions may be made for diaper bags, after a search).
- Small personal-item or hydration packs/bags/belts are permitted but subject to a search.
- Factory-sealed, plastic water bottles (1 per person - up to 1 liter) permitted.
- No coolers.
- All items deemed dangerous or inappropriate will be confiscated or denied access at the sole discretion of security personnel.

The Philadelphia FBI has been seeking a serial bandit that they believe is responsible for 8 robberies in Bucks and Montgomery County starting October 21st. They now believe that same robber struck again last noght, this time in Chester County. The man started targeting retail establishments and has progressed to bank branches inside supermarkets. The subject showed a handgun at several of the robberies. He is described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5'10"-6' tall, medium build, with brown hair. He is known to wear a red Phillies cap, a black jacket with light-colored stripe across the chest, a green baseball cap with a pink brim, and a blue hooded sweatshirt. The suspect drives a silver four-door sedan. Anyone with information about him is urged to call the FBI at 215-641-8910.

Police have discovered human remains in West Kensington late this afternoon. The discovery of a “human jaw or skull” in a field near 4th and Westmoreland street is related to the investigation of a former Philadelphia police officer. Ex-Officer Ronald Dove was suspended with the intent to dismiss earlier this month for violating departmental policy by failing to cooperate and for lying. His girlfriend is accused of murdering her ex-husband.
