A husband and wife have been hospitalized after a a house explosion in Cape May County. It happened at around 4pm in the Villas section of Lower Township on the 200 block of East Atlantic Avenue. Lower Towship Mayor Michael Beck lives in the neighborhood and heard the explosion. Several people ran over to the burning house and pulled out the wife and husband. They were transported to the hospital. Several fire departments responded to the scene and evacuated the neighborhood. They are investigating the cause.

Camden, NJ will start enforcing curfews on most businesses in the city starting immediately. Under the new curfew laws, businesses will have to close at 11 pm Sunday through Thursday night and at midnight on Friday and Saturday. This law has been on the books for two year but has been tied up in opponent lawsuits, but has now been cleared by a New Jersey appeals court. Mayor Dana Redd says that the law is designed to cut down on street crime. She also said that personnel from the mayor's office will be going business to business with information to educate store owners over the next month. The ordinance does not cover gas stations, bars, or pharmacies.
