Autumn Pasquale Killer Sentenced 17 years; Judge Orders Stoppage on Montgomery Same-Sex Licenses

This past August 16-year-old Justin Robinson confessed to the October 2012 murder of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale, pleading guilty to aggravating manslaughter. Today he learned his fate. The teen will serve 17 years in prison, and at least 85 percent before being eligible for parole. According to authorities, last October, Justin, then 15, and his 17-year-old brother, Dante, strangled Autumn for her BMX bike and dumped her body in a recycling bin near their Clayton, NJ, home. The town search for days before the body was discovered. Charges are still pending for Dante.

A Pennsylvania commonwealth court judge ordered the register of wills on Montgomery County to stop issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Judge Dante Pellegrini stated that Montgomery County register of wills D. Bruce Hanes acted outside his powers when he granted licenses to same-sex couples. He said that even if he is correct in his view of the constitutionality of the law the proper response would be to bring action in court to challenge the law. Otherwise he has “admittedly failed to comply with his mandatory ministerial public duty.”
