The bodies of a father and son were pulled out of the Wissahickon Creek near the Valley Green Inn at Valley Green Road and Forbidden Drive this afternoon. At around 3 pm the 13-year-old son jumped into the creek. After which 41-year-old father had jump in to rescue him. Witnesses did not see them get out of the water and called police. This area, popular with swimmers, is know as Devil's Pool. Police are still investigating.

A babysitter is being called a hero today after saving a nine year old girl from the path of a car. It happened at 7:30 this morning at 3rd and Wyoming Avenue in the Feltonville section. Investigators say a SUV ran a stop sign and rammed into two cars. One of those cars jumped the curb and was headed toward 9-year-old Andria Garcia who was waiting for the bus on the corner. Andria’s babysitter was able to push the girl out of the way of the oncoming car. She suffered only minor bumps and a cut. The driver of the SUV may have been under the influence, there were pill bottles and a 40 ounce bottle of beer in the car. The other two drivers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The crash in still under investigation.

A cause of death is now known for the beloved Philadelphia Zoo gorilla who died last month during surgery. Officials say that Jabari was anesthetized for the procedure and everything looked good until swelling in his throat blocked his airway. Various test have show that a bacterial infection on his tongue produced the swelling. They do not know the cause of the infection. Jabari was a Western Lowland Gorilla and was 28 years old.

Tonight, clear and cool, temps in the mid 60's this evening in Center City.
