A window washer fell this afternoon while working on a building across from Rittenhouse Square. There were three workers washing windows at around 2pm. The man fell from the seventh floor to a roof outside the second floor above the lobby of the Rittenhouse Claridge apartment building at 201 S. 18th Street. He survived the fall and was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. The Department of Licenses & Inspections will inspect the equipment and investigate the cause of the accident.

A giant inflatable rat and a loudspeaker playing sounds of a screeching baby has greeted the guests of an Old City hotel this past Wednesday and Thursday. They are just part of a protest by union workers against the property for using out-of-town labor for renovations. They say that foreign labor erodes local wages. The message is not falling on deaf ears of the either guests or neighbors of the hotel. Don't bother to set a wake up call, the blaring rat will get you up around 6:30 am. The Wyndham Hotel, at 4th and Arch Streets, is owned and operated by Texas firm FelCor.

The FBI and Philadelphia Police have arrested three men after a high speed chase through Kensignton. The FBI was working with Police to track down one of their “most wanted.” When the agents arrived their suspect took off with two other men. During the chase, a gun was thrown from the car, and a second gun was recovered inside the suspect's vehicle. The suspect's vehicle also collided with FBI agent's cars during the pursuit. All three men face local and federal charges, but have haven't been identified yet.
