Lap Dance Tax, Kate in Labor, Camden Bankruptcy Possibility

Gentlemen's clubs in Philadelphia are ready to challenge the legality of Mayor Michael Nutter's proposed lap dance tax. Cheerleaders and Club Risque recently got hit with tax bills for over $400k in back taxes. The clubs contend that the amusement tax is paid by customers when they enter in the cover charge.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge has gone into labor. Officials say she is in a private wing of a central London hospital. Prince William’s first child will become third in line for the British throne after Prince Charles and then William. The baby will eventually become King or Queen. Kate will give birth in the private Lindo Wing of the hospital, the same place where Princess Diana gave birth to William and Harry.

UPDATE: Statement from Kennsington Palance

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 4.24pm.

The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.

The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.

Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight."

With the city of Detroit filing for bankruptcy, some in New Jersey are wondering if the city of Camden may not be far behind. A close look is being taken at whether state and local pension systems are underfunded. Since 2003, more than 20 counties and municipalities in 10 states have filed bankruptcy, but none in New Jersey since the Great Depression.

Weather
Thunderstorms around the area today. 82 in Center City.
