Matthew Royer, 21, of Skippack, Montgomery, PA went missing last Friday on his way home from college at the University of Rhode Island. He left school at around 6:30 last Thursday night and was seen on surveillance at a gas station only 35 miles from home at 2:00 am Friday. The last known sighting of him was on Friday at 1 pm in Lebanon County about an hour from his home. His parent's reported him missing last Friday and authorities began their search.

Matthew has been found safe and sound in North Carolina. No word on what brought him south to that state, but the Pennsylvania State Police are considering this a closed investigation.

"The family requests that the media not contact them nor reveal his location," police said in a statement. "They wish to consider this a private and closed matter."
