Philadelphia district attorney Seth Williams announced Wednesday afternoon that Herbert and Catherine Schaible had been charged with third degree murder, involuntary manslaughter, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. The Schaible's 7-month-old son Brandon died April 18th of dehydration and bacterial pneumonia due to a streptococcus infection which could have been treated with antibiotics. The couple belongs to religious sect that does not believe in using modern medicine but rather healing by prayer. The Schaibles were convicted of involuntary manslaughter in 2009 after their two-year-old son died of pneumonia. They were sentenced to 10 years probation and ordered to take their children to doctors and follow any medical advice given. The DA's office determined that the murder charge was appropriate given their previous conviction.

Philadelphia Police are looking for two suspects in connection with a wild shooting inside a strip club early last Saturday morning. The incident, caught on surveillance video, happened at the Purple Orchard Gentleman’s Club, located at 3275 South 61st Street in the Elmwood section of the city just before 2 a.m on Saturday May 11th. Two male suspects got into an argument with management and were removed. Minutes later one suspect returned to the building with an AK-47 firing multiple inside the club before fleeing with the second man in a light colored sedan. The first man has been identified as 21-year-old Henry Pettigrew, of Belmar Terrace. He is a 5-foot-11, black male weighing 180 pounds and has a thin beard. The second suspect has been described as a black male, early 20's, around 5'9”, with a medium build and goatee. Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 215-686-TIPS (8477).

The Chief of SEPTA Police has turned to Twitter to spread the word about crime on the Broad Street Line. One of the most prolific criminals yet to be caught on the subway line is 19-year-old Benjamin Teague. Teague is a suspect in a number of crimes involving cell phone snatching or “Apple picking,” where thieves take phones right out of victims' hands. Chief Thomas Nestel said that they have several warrants for Teague's arrest. His tweet made it clear that “Every Transit cop in the city has your [Teague's] picture.” Teague has been known to be prone to violence, if see him notify SEPTA police.

Weather
