Skippack College Student Missing, Powerball Winner in Florida, Gov. Corbett in Court with NCAA

A 21 year old Skippack student has gone missing on his trip home from University of Rhode Island. Matthew Royer texted his mother Thursday night, before he started the seven hour drive home, letting her know he was leaving. His phone was traced to a gas station in Allentown where he was last seen on surveillance video early Friday morning, just 35 miles from home.

There was a winner in the biggest Powerball jackpot drawing in history Saturday night. A single winning ticket sold at a Publix Supermarket in Zephyrhills, Florida entitles the holder to a jackpot of $590.5 million. There were also winners of $1 million or more in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

Pennsylvania Governor Corbett’s team of lawyers is in Federal Court today arguing a motion to dismiss the lawsuit against Penn State sanctions. Corbett claims the NCAA violated its own by-laws and forced Penn State to accept sanctions under duress. The NCAA is trying to have Corbett’s suit dismissed.

Sports
The Phillies open a series tonight against the Marlins without Carlos Ruiz and Ryan Howard – both sidelined with injuries.

Weather
Sunshine today. 82 in Center City.
