Actress Angelina Jolie (pictured) has revealed she has had both breasts removed in a double mastectomy. The decision on the surgery came after tests revealed she has the BRCA1 gene mutation and an 87% chance that she would get life threatening breast cancer. Jolie’s mother was killed by cancer at the age of 56. Jolie’s procedure required three rounds of surgery, finishing with reconstruction of her breasts on April 27th.

Abortion Doctor Kermit Gosnell has been found guilty of first degree murder. The verdict came in from the jury yesterday, which is under a gag order until next week when they reconvene for the penalty phase of the trial. Gosnell is guilty of first degree murder in the deaths of three babies, infanticide for the fourth baby and involuntary manslaughter in the death of a patient. The prosecution plans to seek the death penalty.

Philadelphia’s retiring Immaculate Heart nuns are enjoying the fruits of their labors as a $19 million renovation and expansion is underway at Camilla Hall on the campus of Immaculata College. Over 200 retired nuns live there now and the number is increasing quickly. The nuns receive no money from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and are relying on loans and a capital campaign currently underway.
