Brenda Heist, then 42, mysteriously disappeared 11 years ago after dropping her kids off at school. Dinner was found defrosting in the kitchen, laundry half done, her car found the next county over, and all her personal belongings left behind. Her husband eventually gave up and had her declared legally dead two years ago and remarried. Until now, when it turns out Heist, now 53, isn't dead and lives in Florida. That day she met up with some drifters, decided to drop everything and hitchhike, panhandle, and scavenge her way south on a whim. In 2002, she was going through an amicable divorce and just received some bad news about housing plans and decided to run. Now she is homeless with various warrants and is tired of running. Her kids are all grown up and her ex-husband had to go through years of scrutiny over her disappearance. "She has a birth certificate and a death certificate so she's got a long ways to make this right again," Lititz Borough Police Det. John Schofield said. "She's got to take it slow with her family, I'm sure, and it's going to be a long process."

An arrest has been made in the Easter Sunday carjacking of an 80-year-old woman outside the Metro Diner in Brooklawn, NJ. Brooklawn Police Chief Francis McKinney said that they have arrested 28-year-old Nicholas Silvestro of Gloucester City and charged him with Carjacking, Theft, Aggravated Assault, Robbery and Shoplifting Wednesday. 80-year-old Catherine Hodge of Bellmar, NJ had just finished Easter brunch with her family and was sitting in her car ready to go home when she was forcefully pulled from her car by the suspect who then took off in her vehicle. The suspect had come from the Rite Aid next door where he had tried to return stolen merchandise he had stolen the day before when he was recognized and ran out. Fingerprint evidence collected from the scene led to investigators identifying Silvestro. He is being held on $250,000 bail.

A body that washed ashore this morning in Ocean City, NJ has been identified as missing boat captain David McAuliffe. The body was discovered Wednesday morning by Ocean City Public Works Employees. The Cape May County Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was accidental drowning. McAuliffe disappeared on April 23rd when his Sea Tow boat Cape Hatteras sank near the Great Egg Harbor Inlet. The Coast Guard received an emergency signal and responded within minutes but when they arrived at the area they only found debris. They searched for two days for McAuliffe but did not find a trace. The Cape Hatteras was equipped with survival equipment including two survival suits and two life rafts. The 49-foot missing boat was discovered and recovered from the sea on Sunday.
