Neighbors and parents are on alert after reports of a potential child luring in the Deepdale neighborhood of Tredyffrin Township in Chester County. On Tuesday, a man described as being in his fifties with a spanish accent, called to an 8-year-old boy and his friend as they played alone in their yard. He asked them to “come in the car.” The two boys did not comply, but they did see that the man had toys in his blue van. Police and Neighborhood Watch have stepped up patrols. Parents are asked to be extra vigilant in this family neighborhood. Tredyffrin Police are preparing a statement to be released.

UPDATE April 5th: Police have released a statement today regarding this incident back on March 26th. The suspect is described as being between 40 and 50 years of age, with a tan complexion, dark hair and light colored eyes. He spoke with an accent to the children. The minivan was possibly a light blue Honda Odyssey with a white license plate and red letters. The side windows had sun curtains. Anyone with information to contact contact Detective James Konieczny at (610) 408-3647.

An unlicensed daycare provider in Delaware has been charged with locking up 3-year-old twins while she left the house to pick up other children. Police officers went to the house of 19-year-old Veronica Miller at 3:30 pm Thursday to check on reports of child neglect. They found the two twins sleeping on the floor with blankets and pillows behind a closet door and a bathroom door wedged with a chair. The two were unharmed. Miller returned to the home at 4:08 and was arrested and charged with 12 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Apparently, she has been leaving the two children barricaded in that space everyday since February so she could go pickup other children at a bus stop in New Castle, DE.

The weather this Easter weekend will start sunny and end soggy. Expect Saturday to be sunny for most of the day with high temperatures around 58 degrees. Clouds will start to roll in overnight Saturday into Sunday morning with a low of 41. Easter Sunday will start off dry, if you are planning on going to church or out to brunch, but showers could start by the early afternoon with steady rain by night. The high on Sunday will be 57 in Philadelphia.
