Phillies Back in Philly, Chink's Steaks Renames, LaSalle Loses Game Earns Respect

The Phillies are back in Philadelphia. After a Spring in Clearwater that showed the team has more pop at the plate and some questions on the mound, the Phillies are ready to play their final exhibition games at home, then get the season started. Tickets are available for tonight's game at Citizen's Bank Park against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Chink's Steaks is changing its name. The northeast Philly steak joint, named for its original owner, Sam "Chink" Sherman, will change its name to Joe’s for current owner Joe Groh. Chink’s opened in 1949 and was Sam Sherman's 1930's childhood nickname because of his slanted eyes. Since then, the term "Chink" has become socially inappropriate, considered a racial slur.

LaSalle was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament last night with their loss to Wichita State, but the Explorers unlikely run to the Sweet 16 gave Philadelphia something to cheer for and made the rest of the country take notice. LaSalle got off to a slow start and couldn't compete in the paint, making a comeback impossible. Many are optimistic about LaSalle's prospects next year.

Sports
Tonight the 76ers are in Cleveland. The Phillies have a home exhibition game with Toronto.

Weather
Mostly sunny today. 55 in Center City.
