Atlantic City's most violent drug traffickers are now behind bars. The arrests consisted of over two-dozen men and women. This gang, known as the "Dirty Block", is a threat to the Atlantic City community by selling illegal drugs such as heroin. They created violence by eliminating their rivals to preserve their market.

The founders and leaders of the gang, Mykal and Malik Derry, are recently behind bars because of the murder of Tyquinn James. James was an enemy to the brothers by being a rival drug dealer.

With the brothers and other gang members being behind bars, the neighborhood is now safer to go outside. Residents of this community do not need to live in fear anymore. Children can go outside and not worry about the neighborhood being dangerous.

Officials have stated that with nine gang members already behind bars and twenty-five arrested, the heroin charge will be a mandatory of 10 years sentencing in prison with a maximum of life in prison.
