Zip Line in Roxborough, Burglaries in Lower Merion, Right to Die Bill in New Jersey

A plan to build a zip line in Wissahickon Valley Park has local residents concerned. The Fairmount Park Commission and the parks and recreation department have done their studies, however residents see potential problems with vandalism and excessive traffic.

Lower Merion Police have issued an alert to residents after 10 burglaries in the last week. In separate incidents, one house on Periwinkle Lane was hit for about $49,000 in valuables including expensive watches. In Villanova on the 700 block of Canterbury, thieves took $500,000 in jewelry and belongings.

A bill is being considered that would make New Jersey the third state to allow terminally ill patients to end their lives. Modeled after laws in Washington and Oregon, an adult given 6 months to live would have the option to request a lethal dose or injection from the attending physician.
