PATCO Train Stranded on Bridge; Cherry Hill Brothel Bust; NJ Congressman Smith to Vatican

A NJ-bound PATCO train stopped on the Ben Franklin Bridge Saturday night shortly after 6 pm, stranding passengers above the Delaware River for more than an hour. Many of those passengers were reportedly visibly intoxicated and wearing their pre-St. Patrick's green attire. The inebriation of half the crowd did not help the frustration level, but neither did the communication of the status of the situation as passengers vented on Twitter about a lack of information. Two passengers got off the train and began to walk along the tracks. They were arrested by Delaware River Port Authority police and will likely be charged with trespassing. Eventually another train picked up the riders at around 7:30pm, returned to Philadelphia to turn around and head back to Camden. The other train was disabled into the night, no word on what caused it to stop.

Cherry Hill police have busted a suspected neighborhood brothel after a three month investigation after getting tips from suspicious neighbors. 47-year-old Michael Clark has been arrested for running a prostitution ring out of his home on Oak Avenue. Concerned residents called police after they noticed scantily young women coming and going from the home on a regular basis, along with other suspicious people throughout the day. Each morning a man in a red van would come and collect a cash box. Police say that Clark would advertise the services at his house or motels online. The neighbors who called in the tips are looking to move.

New Jersey Congressman Chris Smith of the 4th District is joining the United States delegation to Vatican City for the investiture of Pope Francis this week. The American delegation will be headed by Vice President Joe Biden. While in Rome, Smith says he plans to meet with Vatican officials to discuss human rights issues, including human trafficking, religious freedom and culture of life issues.
