A shooting after a rap concert at the TLA last night left one man dead and one hospitalized. Rapper, French Montana left the TLA in his tour bus after the show and headed for the Holiday Inn Express on Columbus Blvd near Race Street. At the hotel, a crowd formed around the bus when a car drove by firing shots into the crowd. Two men were hit by the gunfire. 26-year-old Jowann King, of New York was hit in the abdomen and pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital. Another 28-year-old man from New York was hit in the shoulder and is in stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Police say it doesn't appear that French Montana or his entourage were the targets of the shooting, but rather a dispute between two groups of fans. Montana has a show tonight in Boston.

When we think of valuables in a car that thieves may target, we usually don’t think about airbags. But Philadelphia Police are saying airbags have been the target of six break-ins on Pennsylvania Avenue in Spring Garden. Most of the cars hit were Honda’s. The best preventative according to police is a club on the steering wheel.

Two New Jersey charter schools will close and possibly a third at the end of this school year. The Education Department will renew the charter for 13 publicly funded schools. However Jersey City’s Liberty Academy and Winslow Institute for Excellence will close. A decision is coming on Camden’s Freedom Academy.

Sports
College basketball tonight Penn hosts Dartmouth.

Weather
Clear skies today. 45 in Center City.
