Authorities in Bucks County have released a new surveillance video in connection to the home invasion and murder of Joseph Canazaro in Hill Township last month. The video was taken from a business in the Quakertown Plaza Shopping Center showing what appears to be a red, four-door Nissan sedan pulling up next to the Lincoln pickup truck that the killers stole from Canazaro’s home. The two suspects spent 10 minutes between the vehicles transferring material from the truck to the car before fleeing in the car, leaving the truck behind. The footage is from around 10 a.m. on the morning of the home invasion and murder. After breaking into his home, the two men bound Canazaro, his girlfriend and boy. They stole stole guns, money, and jewelry before killing Canazaro and leaving the scene in his truck. The woman was able to escape and call police. Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler is encouraging anyone with information about the case to call police at 215-453-6011.

A lengthy operation called “Ever Vigilant” in New Jersey has led to 25 arrests related to child pornography. The men range in age from a 17-year-old from Cherry Hill to a 64-year-old from Sicklerville. They are all charged with 2nd Degree Distribution of Child Pornography and 4th Degree Possession of Child Pornography. The images and videos distributed amongst the men were very graphic showing toddlers to 10-year-olds being raped both boys and girls. Five of the men had direct contact with young children. New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa stressed that this is not a victimless crime. "Anyone who views and distributes child pornography - particularly the type of child rape videos targeted in this operation - puts himself in league with the predators who sexually assault children to create these videos," said Attorney General Jeffery S. Chiesa. Seven of the men are from South Jersey towns including Cherry Hill, Sicklerville, Clementon, West Berlin, Mount Holly, Browns Mills and Margate. They face prison terms of five to 10 years. For more information on those charged go to the Attorney General's website: http://www.state.nj.us/lps/newsreleases13/pr20130227a.html

Shakeem Lavar Carter, 20, of Norristown, was arrested and charged with murder, abuse of corpse, robbery, arson, and related crimes in connection to the murder of 17-year-old Kevin Allen back on February 12th. Allen was found stabbed to death more than 20 times, his body lit on fire with vegetable oil, in his father's North Coventry, Chester County, apartment. There was blood on the stairs, door, and walls inside the apartment itself and a fire was set to cover up the crimes. Carter and Allen were seen on surveillance tapes taking a SEPTA bus to Pottstown where Allen was expecting to pick up $350 his father was leaving so he could buy clothes. Instead a violent and ultimately deadly altercation took place. Carter could be seen again on SEPTA cameras riding back to Norristown alone, and without his coat, checking his clothes and hands for marks, and then counting the money. Investigators found blood on his shoes and identified him by tattoos on his hands and neck. He denied spending time with the victim that day. "What is the value of a young man's life today?" Chester County District Attorney Thomas Hogan asked. "It's $350, and that is a tragedy."
