Blizzard Will Bring More Snow, Dead Pit Bull Dogs Found, Piazza at Schmidt's Sold
  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA

The blizzard barreling down on the Northeast this weekend may bring Philadelphia a bit more snow than was originally predicted. The word from the National Weather Service now says that we should expect at least 2 inches of snow, maybe 4. The northern suburbs could get 6 inches or more and the Poconos could get close to a foot. The changeover from rain to snow will happen Friday afternoon and continue through Saturday morning.

The remains of six dead dogs were found in a trash bag near the railroad tracks at 26th and Washington and a $2,000 reward is being offered by the Pennsylvania SPCA for information leading to the arrest of those involved. The adult male pit bulls were apparently killed in the last 24 hours and investigators want to hear from anyone who may know how they got there. Call 866-601-SPCA.

Philadelphia developer Bart Blatstein has agreed to sell controlling interest in Tower Investments’ properties, The Piazza at Schmidt’s and Liberties Walk at Schmidt to a New York investor group, Kushner Companies. The sale allows Blatstein to focus on The Provence. Blatstein is one of six investors contending for Philadelphia’s second casino license.

Showers later may start as snow before changing over to rain. 31 in Center City.
