Police Commissioner Son Charged in House Stealing, Sandusky Appeal, Killer Flu Season

Four men have been charged with stealing homes in Philadelphia. One of the men, Steven Johnson is the son of former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Sylvester Johnson. The four men ran a house stealing scheme that involved more than 20 properties. Allegedly, they forged records and notaries transferring properties into their names and then selling them to unsuspecting buyers.

Jerry Sandusky, back in court today, is appealing his child molestation conviction. His attorneys are arguing they were not given enough time to prepare a proper defense, as they maintain they were given a mountain of material at the eleventh hour before trial and did not have time to properly review it all. Sandusky insists he is innocent.

It may feel like Spring these next few days, but flu season is severe this year and is claiming lives. The Lehigh Valley Hospital Center confirmed that a baby died last weekend with the flu. That hospital alone has seen between 80 and 100 patients with flu symptoms in the past 2 days. As of January 5th, Pennsylvania has recorded 22 flu related deaths.
