NJ Police Station Shooting, PennDOT Ready for Storm, Revel Gets $150M Financing

The gunman who shot three officers inside the Gloucester Township Police Station early this morning did it with an officer's firearm. The shooter is Eddie Jones III, a Department of Corrections employee. Police returned fire and killed Jones. Jones had been arrested in connection with a stalking incident. While at the police station, Jones attempted to escape and overpowered an officer and grabbed her gun. When other officers came to her aid, Jones started firing. One officer was struck twice and required surgery. All three officers are in stable condition.

PennDOT is ready for Philadelphia's first significant snowfall of the season. They'll be rolling out a new weapon to fight slippery roads. A 53 foot tanker truck that carries 8,000 gallons of salt brine. It can spray three lanes of traffic at once and can treat the Schuylkill Expressway, the Blue Route and Route 422 without needing a refill. The new super-salter will free up smaller trucks to treat more secondary roads more quickly.

While some may see it as throwing good money after bad, Atlantic City's Revel Casino has obtained another $150 million in financing to keep the elite casino operational. Revel will also make a few changes by beefing up slots operations and add a more affordable restaurant to try to attract more of a gambling base. Originally, Revel had hoped to attract a more affluent market and corporate meeting business. However, it has not met those expectations.

Weather
Clouding up tonight with 2 to 4 inches of snow starting near daybreak. Low 29 in Center City.
