Three Pennsylvania State Troopers were injured and four people are dead after a chase that extended over several miles in Hollidaysburg, about 70 miles west of Harrisburg. A gunman apparently killed three people and injured three troopers in pursuit. The gunman was also killed during the incident. One trooper escaped serious injury when a bullet was stopped by his bullet-proof vest.

A hunter from Levittown, Buck’s County collected a ceremonial check for $33.1 million dollars today. Roger Custer was going on a hunting trip when he decided to stop at Levittown News and Tobacco to pick up some supplies and a few Powerball tickets for the December 5th drawing. He returned from the trip, checked his numbers and found he matched all 5 white balls.

The National Rifle Association spoke up today as President Obama tries to tighten control on guns. NRA leader Wayne LaPierre warned that another Connecticut-type shooter is waiting in the wings to strike. LaPierre wants Congress to put an armed police officer in every school in the country as a deterrent. Saying our society is leaving children defenseless for predators to exploit, LaPierre said an immediate protection plan could be put in place using trained military reserves, retired military, security professionals, certified firefighters and qualified citizens to work with local school officials.

Weather
