Meek Mill Not Allowed to Tour, Cancels Africa Trip, Must Stay in Philadelphia

A Philadelphia judge today ruled that Robert Williams aka Meek Mill cannot travel or tour while on probation for at least a month. This will definitely cancel the North Philadelphia native's plans to head to Africa for a number of concert dates in Lagos, Nigeria and Libreville, Gabon. Meek Mill was also supposed to be appear on Conan O'Brien's late night show in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The hearing today in front of Judge Genece Brinkley was to determine if Williams could be allowed to travel for concerts and other music-related appearances. He is currently on probation for a January 2007 arrest involving drugs, guns and an assault. He chose a nonjury trial, and in August 2008, Meek was found guilty of assault, four counts involving carrying an unlicensed gun in public, and two drug counts. He was sentenced to 11 – 23 months in prison and served 8 months being released on 5 years probation. He still has 3 years probation left and has been staying away from the street while building his music career. He will have to remain in Philadelphia so he can appear at periodic probation hearings and perform community service.
