Powerball Over $500 Million, Relatives of Caregiver Charged, NJ Gov Christie Approval Rating

The Powerball Jackpot for tomorrow's drawing has now eclipsed $500 million thanks to brisk sales of $2 tickets. This is the largest Powerball jackpot ever. It is the second highest jackpot in lottery history behind only the $656 million Mega Millions prize in March.

Four people in Mount Holly have been arrested and charged with beating and torturing a relative for three months. When the 37 year old caregiver of her aunt did not follow instructions, her own relatives beat her with a cane, shot her with a BB gun and a taser.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie decided Monday to run for another term and today new polls indicate his popularity is rising quickly. Since Superstorm Sandy, Christie’s popularity has skyrocketed thanks to the handling of the emergency. His job approval rating is now at 72 percent, higher than any New Jersey Governor in history.

Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson is done for the year after cracking ribs in last night’s loss. Defensive End Jason Babin has been released and Andy Reid announced Nick Foles is the likely starting quarterback in this Sunday Night’s game with the Cowboys.
