Camden Breaks Murder Record, Cherry Hill Smoking Ban, Philadelphia Marathon Sunday

Camden has reached an unenviable milestone. A murder record that has stood for 17 years. Already dubbed America’s second most dangerous city, today investigators were on the scene on the 1600 block of Independence Road in the Fairview section looking into the murder of a man there. This murder brings the total in Camden for 2013 to 59. And it’s only November 16th.

Cherry Hill is joining the ranks of communities banning smoking in township owned areas. If the ordinance passes at the end of November, it will be illegal to light up in a park, playground, school or township facility. Chewing tobacco would also be banned.

The Philadelphia Marathon is Sunday. The weather will be beautiful with partly cloudy skies and race time temperatures in the mid 40’s. We are expecting 30,000 runners and over 60,000 spectators along the route and at the finish line. The festivities and road closures start today with many events and expos around Philadelphia.

Weather
A few clouds tonight. 32 in Philadelphia.
