The Special Olympics Pennsylvania Annual Fall Festival is in full swing at Villanova University. Villanova University's Special Olympics Committee organizes the Fall Festival, which is the largest student-run Special Olympics event in the world. This is the 24th consecutive year for the Special Olympics at Villanova. Thousands of Special Olympics athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters from across the state will participate in various sports such as bocce, long distance running/walking, track, powerlifting, roller skating, soccer and volleyball. More than 3000 volunteers from the Villanova student body and the surrounding community will participate as officials, athlete escorts, award presenters, and administrative support services. Friday night, Opening Ceremonies were held at the Pavilion with the lighting of the Olympic Torch. Saturday afternoon the Torch was carried from the Art Museum to Villanova University in a 13 mile Half Marathon Torch Run. Closing Ceremonies will be held on Sunday in The Pavilion at 1 pm. For more information on the festival go to: specialolympics.villanova.edu Special Olympics PA: www.specialolympicspa.org.

Throughout most of this election cycle Pennsylvania has been spared the onslaught of Presidential TV ads, but in the final days before the election Mitt Romney's campaign has poured some last minute money into our area as polls have tightened. Barack Obama's camp has countered with their own. The GOP candidates are hitting up Pennsylvania this weekend with personal appearances as well, showing they believe that PA may be an important state come Tuesday and not a lost cause. The Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan will have a rally at a private terminal at Harrisburg International Airport as part of a tour today that takes him to Ohio, Virginia, and Florida. Mitt Romney will be in Bucks County on Sunday at a rally in Yardley, PA. You can find information on Romney's rally at http://wmrpa.eventbrite.com. Bill Clinton is going to be making two stops in the Philadelphia area on Monday as well as Pittsburgh and Scranton. Clinton in Blue Bell ofa.bo/bluebell or Clinton in Philly ofa.bo/philadelphia
