Video of Teen Girls beating Woman on Facebook; Parole Board votes to rehear Clemency for Williams

A disturbing video posted on Facebook was discovered this morning by a concerned citizen and reported to Chester police. The video (seen below, warning contains graphic images and language) shows a group of teenage girls beating and taunting an older mentally challenged woman. The girls, who appear 15 or 16, first confronted the 48 year old woman outside her house. They jumped her as she sat on her stoop and began to punch and beat her, laughing and yelling at her the entire time. They group followed her inside as she tried to get away and continued the assault. The attack occurred in the last day or so at 12th Street and Morton in Chester's Sun Village. Two of the girls are currently in custody.

The Pennsylvania Pardon Board voted today 4-1 to grant a second hearing on Terrance Williams' clemency request. The board voted earlier this month 3-2 not to recommend clemency in his death sentence which is scheduled for October 3rd. Williams now claims that his motive for the 1986 murder of Amos Norwood was not a botched robbery as was presented at trial, but actually retribution for years of sexual abuse at the hands of Norwood. In a separate hearing this week, Williams lawyers presented this motive to the court and hoped to prove that evidence of the alleged sexual abuse was suppressed at Williams' original trial. A decision on that hearing is expected on Friday, after which the Pardon Board will rehear his clemency request.

Tonight, Cloudy with showers developing later, temperatures in the upper 60's for most of the evening in Philadelphia.
