City Employees Drunk Driving, Police Shoot Suspect in the Head, Voter ID Law to the Supreme Court

Fox is reporting two Philadelphia City Council employees are accused of driving city owned vehicles while drunk. Sergeant-at-Arms Rodney Williams and Council President, Darrell Clarke?s receptionist, Robin Jones were arrested early Saturday morning in Spring Garden driving separate city vehicles. Both were charged with DUI and Clarke planned to fire both today.

Philadelphia Police shot a 26 year old man in the head Sunday in Hunting Park after investigators say he pulled a gun on police. Responding to reports of an armed robbery police chased two suspects when Daniel Rubio pulled a gun and pointed it at one of the officers who shot Rubio. He is hospitalized in critical condition and charged with armed robbery.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court will hear arguments this week on the voter ID law. Last month, a Commonwealth Court judge refused to block the voter ID law. The ACLU appealed claiming the judge ignored evidence that hundreds of thousands lack proper ID. The state is standing its ground saying the Voter ID law is designed to protect voting rights, not inhibit them.
