Powerball Fever, Woman Killed by SEPTA Train, Dead Bird Mystery Solved

What happens when the Powerball lottery goes two months without a winner? The jackpot grows to $320 million dollars. Tonight's Powerball lottery is certainly capable of changing the lives of winners - for better or worse. This is the 4th largest jackpot in Powerball history. If you choose to play, good luck.

UPDATE: Wednesday winning numbers 8/15/12: 6 27 46 51 56 Powerball: 21

A woman was struck and killed early this morning on the tracks of SEPTA's Broad Street subway. Just after 5 am the woman either fell or jumped in front of the northbound train at the Lombard-South Station. Shuttle busses were called in as the subway line shut down.

Hundreds of dead birds fell from the sky in Millville New Jersey, frightening some residents who felt like they were living in a science fiction movie. Hazmat crews were called out to test air quality and found that a nearby farmer used pesticide on the birds that had been destroying his corn crops. He had all the proper licensing and broke no laws using the pesticide.

Sports
The 76ers welcome Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson to town this afternoon with a press conference open to the public at the National Constitution Center.

Weather
Scattered thunderstorms today. High 85 in Philadelphia.
