Mitt Romney is expected to announce his choice for running mate on Saturday at 9 am from Norfolk, VA. There are still numerous candidates on Romney's list that are a plausible fit for the job as Vice-Presidential nominee. That long list includes NJ Governor Chris Christie, FL Senator Marco Rubio, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, WI Rep. Paul Ryan, former MN Governor Tim Pawlenty, OH Rep. Rob Portman, NH Senator Kelly Ayotte, and more. Although there hasn't been much indication which direction Romney will go with his choice, I don't think he can surprise us anymore than John McCain did 4 years ago.

UPDATE 2:45 am: Multiple sources are now saying that House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan will be Romney's choice for Vice President. The announcement tomorrow morning is being made in front of the USS Wisconsin, which is Rep. Ryan's home state. Ryan would be a so called 'bold pick' in part because of his budget plan that would transform Medicaid and Medicare for future seniors.

Anderson Sotomayor of Vineland, NJ, was accused of driving while intoxicated six times over a period of six weeks between April and May of this year. He was actually in jail waiting to post bail for a few of those weeks on a drug charge too. Due to bail laws in New Jersey, Sotomayor was processed and released each time he was arrested pending his court date for the first offense. Well, he finally sat in front of a judge earlier this summer and today plead guilty to a number of his charges with others being dropped in the plea bargain. The judge, however, made sure the 45-year-old man wouldn't be driving around anytime soon and suspended Sotomayor's driving privledges for 33 years. He also has to spend a year in jail and pay about $7,000 in fines and fees.

In Doylestown, two teens found some sidewalk chalk on the side of the road and proceeded to doodle some animals. One young man drew a sea turtle on the street while his friend drew an outline of a whale. Apparently in Doylestown this sort of activity is highly frowned upon and almost incendiary. Police Officers saw the two drawing with chalk on the side street and issued them citations for criminal mischief. The fines are unknown, they'll have to appear in court to determine that. They say they'll just pay it and move on... much like their chalk animals, which washed away in the rain the next day.
