Trees Replace Paterno Statue, Lower Merion Boy Stabs Dad, Gang Recruitment Crime Legislation

Over the weekend, trees were planted in the spot where Joe Paterno's statue once stood outside Penn State's Beaver Stadium. Last weekend the Paterno statue came down in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal and the investigation's conclusion that Paterno was involved in collusion to cover it up.

A 10 year old boy stabbed his 33 year old father in the neck Sunday night in Ardmore, Lower Merion Township. The father is in Paoli Hospital and the boy is in the custody of family as police unravel exactly what happened. Identities are being withheld as the facts get sorted out.

Pennsylvanias state senate majority leader is trying to make it a crime to recruit gang members. Majority leader Dominic Pileggi says the DA refers to gang activity in Chester County as "junior varsity" for career criminals and wants to keep the gang problem from getting worse.

Sports
The Phillies are off today and are working player deals before this week?s trade deadline. CSNPhilly is reporting on a source that Reuben Amaro is ready to unload and rebuild.
