Dave Matthews Band has summer plans after all.

Dave Matthews Band had announced last year that they planned on taking this next summer off from touring. They've hit the roads constantly since the early 90's and needed a break. However, today they've announced their own fairly ambitious travelling summer festival. It'll happen 4 times in four different places, yet to be determined. DMB will headline each night with various other acts throughout the days. Here's what they're saying so far:

"Dave Matthews Band will host four three-day music festivals across the US this summer. The multi-stage events will feature a wide array of diverse musical talent with Dave Matthews Band performing a headlining set each night. Exact locations, lineups, ticketing and lodging info will be announced soon.

JUNE 24-26...North East/Mid Atlantic

JULY 8-10...Midwest

AUGUST...coming soon!

SEPTEMBER...coming soon!"

Sounds like they couldn't resist thinking of staying home for a whole summer and decided to hold a few big camping trips with friends. It'll be interesting to see what these things develop into.

The location of the North East/Mid-Atlantic leg of this tour has been confirmed. The festival will take place at Bader Field in Atlantic City (site of the former Municipal Airport). That's great news for all of us in Philadelphia/South Jersey. Short trip down the shore to this three day fest at the end of June. Details about the other bands to play will be coming soon I expect.

Dave Matthews Band has announced full details of the Caravan Festival show in Atlantic City, June 24-26 at Bader Field. Joining DMB will be such iradiophilly favorites as David Gray, Ray Lamontagne, The Flaming Lips, O.A.R., Damian Marley, Bassnectar, Dr. Dog, Amos Lee, Thievery Corporation, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Warren Haynes, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Guster, Lotus, Fitz and The Tanturms, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Bobby Long, Punch Brothers, and the list goes on.

It's nice to see Philly natives Amos Lee, Dr. Dog and Lotus gracing the stage. There is no camping on-site, so you'll have to get a hotel at a casino, local camp site, or find a friend's shore house and drive up the parkway. Also, there is no parking at Bader Field. You'll have to park in AC and catch one of the shuttles to the site.

Tickets for Warehouse members go on sale next week, public on sale is March 25th.
