The courts have spoken, Peter Nero will be at the conductor's stand for this year's Philly Pops performance at Independence Hall July 3rd. Any future between Nero and the Pops beyond that will be taken up at a hearing next month if not settled earlier. The performance is part of the city's Welcome America Independence festivities and is a free concert to attendees featuring patriotic songs and more. "I'm proud to announce that, because the mayor and his office have worked so hard to secure the funding for our 11th annual appearance in front of Independence Hall on July 3, I will gladly waive my fee for this concert. And, in addition to our city being the birthplace of our country, I feel I should give back to Philadelphia and its constituents, who have been so good to me and the Pops." said Nero.

The U.S. Marshals have added $1,500 to the normal $20,000 Philadelphia Police homicide reward for any information leading to the arrest of the suspect who fatally shot an Upper Darby man after an argument and fight outside P.Y.T. at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties very early Monday. Steven Miller, 22, is wanted in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Maurice Kimble Miller is described as black male, 6 feet tall, about 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and a tattoo of “RIP Jason” on his left forearm. His last known address was on the 1400 block of Friendship Street near Longshore in Northeast Philadelphia. Starting this year the Philadelphia Police Department has offered $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of all homicide suspects in the city. If you know anything about this incident contact the U.S. Marshal tip line at 1-866-865-8477 or the police tip line at 215-686-8477.

Tonight, partly cloudy, temperatures in the 60's in Philadelphia.
