Media Courthouse Bomb Threat, Msgr. Lynn continues testimony, Roy Halladay placed on 15-day DL

This morning in Media, the Delaware County Courthouse was evacuated after bomb threat was telephoned into 911 at 9:30 am. The building was evacuated as a precaution and the surrounding area sealed off. More than 45 prisoners were in the courthouse at the time for trials, hearings, etc and were taken back to county prison. Deputies, bomb squad, and bomb sniffing dogs found nothing during their search and court employees went back to work at 1pm.

William J. Lynn took the stand in his defense for third day. He asserted that he did more than his predecessors had in dealing with abuse by priests and helping victims, but his power had limits. "I did much more than had been done before I got there," Lynn said. "I have many victims that told me I helped them." The prosecution wants to know why Lynn let priests accused of inappropriate behavior stay in current positions or be placed in new situations where they might offend again. This is a landmark trial against an administrative member of the church, Lynn contends he did not have the power to make those decisions.

In Sports, Right-hander Roy Halladay has been place on the 15-day disabled list due to a strain in his right shoulder, may be out 6-8 weeks. Phillies recalled C Erik Kratz from Lehigh Valley to fill the roster spot.

Rangers agree to 1-year, $5M deal with former Phillies P Roy Oswalt.
