NJ Top Ten Beaches 2012, Fight Parking Tickets Online/Mail, Batmobile Coming To Philadelphia

Philadelphia City Council voted today to allow you to fight parking tickets by mail or online rather than having to show up in person. The vote was unanimous. This would save people a trip to Center City when they want to fight a parking ticket. The bill would force the agency that hears appeals to allow for online or snail mail appeals within six months. It now goes to the desk of the mayor for a signature.

Summer is just about unofficially upon us and the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium has released their Top Ten NJ Beaches. The Wildwoods has won the “best beach in New Jersey” survey for the fourth time in five years. The Wildwoods include all three shore towns: Wildwood Crest, North Wildwood, and just Wildwood. Ocean City got second, and Mark Soifer, the city's public information officer, calls the survey “cockamamie” because it lumps all three towns together. He hangs his hat on Ocean City's “family resort” Travel Channel crown. The rest of the top ten? Those were voted as Long Beach Island, Sea Isle, Belmar, Cape May, Manasquan, Island Beach State Park, Sandy Hook, and Seaside Heights.

You ever wanted to roll through or over traffic on 95 or the Schuylkill some days? Bet you wish you were driving something like Batman's Tumbler Batmobile from the recent Dark Knight trilogy. Well we probably can't go crashing through the streets of Philly like the caped crusader in that tank or the specialized motorcycle Bat-Pod, but they are coming to town next week as part a promotional tour for the new Batman movie, Dark Knight Rises. Go to iradiophilly.com for a list of dates and locations and put your best Bruce Wayne on and photo op.
