The wait is over and speculation can be put to rest. Jay-Z and Mayor Nutter have officially announced the Budweiser "Made in America" Festival to be held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on September 1st and 2nd over Labor Day Weekend. They made the announcement this morning in front of an large American flag on a drizzle soaked set on the Art Museum steps.

Jay-Z will curate the roster of 28 artists coming from a variety of music genres ranging from rock, rap, pop, dance etc. The event will consist of 3 stages. The list of performing artists is not yet confirmed, but Jay-Z says he has about "70%" confirmed as of today.

Michael Nutter calls Philadelphia "music town."

Tickets go on sale May 23rd at Ticketmaster. A 2 day pass will be $99. A portion of the proceeds will benefit to the United Way.

Here is a teaser trailer from Jay's website. It's called "Made in America" and features Philly skyline shots.
