A new video featuring missing South Jersey girl Dulce Maria Alavez was posted to YouTube on Sunday, 4/25. That was her 7th birthday. She has been missing since September 2019 when she disappeared from Bridgeton City Park. The video seems to have been posted by her father, Edgar Perez, who was deported to Mexico in 2018. In the video, he sings happy birthday and talks over a slide show of videos. He says that he doesn't know where she is. The end of the video has another song it appears he wrote. He sings, "Where are you? I don't know. I hope you are well." (loose translation). Bridgeton Police Chief Michael Gaimari are looking into the video, and if it is from Perez, they are interested in making contact.

Delaware State Police are investigating a second deadly shooting in Smyrna that they believe is connected to the shooting of a woman outside Smyrna Middle School on Tuesday morning, 4/17. The second victim is a 21-year-old woman who was found shot to death on Tuesday on the 800 block of Monrovia Avenue in the McLane Gardens Apartments. Troopers were called to Smyra Middle School around 10:30 a.m. after a 38-year-old woman was shot in the front parking lot. The woman and her 47-year-old husband had come to the school to pick up their daughter for a medical appointment. They got into an argument outside the car. The man pulled her back inside and shot her. He left the scene and switched to a vehicle registered in his name. Police spotted his vehicle and gave chase. The man shot himself while driving and crashed near Galena, Maryland. He was taken to a Maryland hospital where he was pronounced dead. During the investigation, police learned about the second woman. The two women were acquaintances. Their identities are being with held pending notification. Police are still working on a motive.

A former Delaware River Waterfront Corporation bookkeeper is accused of stealing millions of dollars. 57-year-old Angela DiPietro-Sabatine of Pennsauken, N.J. is charged with ten counts of wire fraud, one count of bank fraud, three counts of aggravated identity theft, and aiding and abetting. She allegedly took $2.6 million over at least seven years. She working as DRWC's accounting administrator. DiPietro-Sabatine would create false expense reports for legitimate vendors and then sign the checks over to herself. The money went to gambling and luxury vacations.

"The alleged conduct in this case shows a pattern of deception and dishonesty that went on for the better part of a decade," said Acting U.S. Attorney Williams. "Organizations must be able to rely on the honesty of employees who handle money, and this is especially important when the entity has a mission meant to benefit the public. As alleged, DiPietro-Sabatine went to great lengths to hide her criminal conduct from her employer; our Office thanks DRWC for coming forward and cooperating fully with the investigation so we can hold this defendant responsible for her actions."
