Philadelphia Police have arrested a man for stalking and harassing multiple women on several different occasions on the streets in Old City. 32-year-old Steve Ditty is charged with stalking, simple assault and harassment. Some of the incidents were captured on cell phone video by onlookers and were posted to social media. On November 12 at Ninth and South Streets, he initiated contact with a woman. He attempted to follow her when she jogged off, but stopped when a bystander yelled at him. On November 14, Ditty repeatedly asked to use another woman's phone and did not stop bothering her after he was rebuffed. He then apparently made unwanted contact with the woman and followed her. On November 23 at Third and Market, Ditty encountered the same woman from Nov. 12. He attempted to initiate conversation and made uncomfortable comments about her body. Later, after she learned about his behavior with other women from social media, she reported both incidents to police. The Philadelphia District's Attorney's Office says that this arrest violates his probation. He had previously been incarcerated for 10 months for similar offenses. Police continue to investigate. If you have any information or believe you may have been a victim of this suspect, call Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened Thanksgiving afternoon in Strawberry Mansion. The incident happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, 11/26, on the 2100 block of North Corlies Street. A man in his 20s was shot once in the abdomen, once in the buttocks, and suffered a graze wound to the right arm. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A 19-year-old man was shot in the shoulder. A third man was shot in the arm. Those two were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Police found 28 shell casings from three different guns at the scene. No arrests have been made. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Philadelphia's Christmas Village is now open from Thanksgiving, 11/26, through Christmas Eve, 12/24. The traditional open-air German-style market is set up between City Hall and LOVE Park. This year there are many coronavirus COVID-19 protocols in place to keep all visitors safe. Keep in mind that the guidance from our elected officials at the current moment is to 'stay home.' Here are some of the guidelines at the outdoor market. 1) you must wear a mask 2) keep 6 feet from other shoppers 3) avoid crowding 4) sanitatizer stations available throughout 5) follow directional signs when walking through 6) only half the vendors this year to create more space 7) food and drinks in separate outdoor food court 8) pre-paid timed skate sessions to control capacity. See links below for more details about Center City winter activities and the COVID-19 guidance.
