Trump Appealing Dismissed PA Election Lawsuit; 12yo Shot Answering Door; Shop Owner Shot At Closing

On Saturday, 11/21, U.S. District Court Judge Matthew Brann dismissed the Trump campaign's lawsuit seeking to block the certification of the votes in Pennsylvania. "One might expect that when seeking such a startling outcome, a plaintiff would come formidably armed with compelling legal arguments and factual proof of rampant corruption," he wrote in his 37-page opinion. "Instead, this court has been presented with strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations.. unsupported by the evidence."

Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, argued that the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of equal protection under the law was violated when different counties decided they would notify voters of problems with their mail-in ballots and allow them the opportunity to “cure” them. Brann said that the PA Secretary of State Kathy Brookvar's guidance to counties on 'curing' ballots was lawful, and if there was anyone to sue it would be county election officials who chose not to notify voters of mistakes. "In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state," the opinion said. "Our people, laws, and institutions demand more." READ full order below.

Senator Pat Toomey (R, PA) said, "With today's decision by Judge Matthew Brann, a longtime conservative Republican whom I know to be a fair and unbiased jurist, to dismiss the Trump campaign's lawsuit, President Trump has exhausted all plausible legal options to challenge the result of the presidential race in Pennsylvania... These developments, together with the outcomes in the rest of the nation, confirm that Joe Biden won the 2020 election and will become the 46th President of the United States."

On Sunday, 11/22, President Donald Trump and other plaintiffs appealed this ruling to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Pennsylvania is worth 20 electoral votes. He would have to also win legal battles in other states to turn the election.

Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect wanted after a 12-year-old boy was shot and killed while answering the door early Sunday morning, 11/22, in East Frankford. It happened around 3 a.m. on the 5000 block of Ditman Street. 12-year-old Sadeek Clark-Harrison went to answer a knock, but before he could open it he was struck in the head by a gunshot fired through the front door. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His grandmother and 9-year-old sister were also home at the time. Police are looking into surveillance video from the neighborhood. If you have any information, contact police at 215-686-TIPS.

A store owner in North Philadelphia was shot in the head while closing his shop for the night on Sunday, 11/22. It happened around 10 p.m. on the 2400 block of Ridge Avenue. Chief Inspector Scott Small said the 50-year-old man was pulling down the metal security gate when the gunman shot him. The man was rushed to Temple University Hospital in extremely critical condition. His 19-year-old daughter was inside at the time. She was not injured. No word on a motive. No arrests have been made.
