Berks Mother Arrested for Hanging Children; Delco Black Bear Still Roams; Gun Arrest at PHL Airport

A Berks County mother has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the deaths of her two young children found hanging in her basement. Lisa Snyder was arrested on Monday morning, 12/2, and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Snyder had called 911 on the afternoon of 9/23 and told authorities that she found 8-year-old Conner Snyder and his 4-year-old sister Brinley hanging in the basement by a cable dog leash in their Albany Township home. Medics were able to revive the two children, but they passed away days later. Snyder told police that her son committed suicide because he was bullied at school and killed his sister so he wouldn't be alone. Berks County District Attorney John Adams said that after investigating, police found no signs that Conner had been bullied. He also had a disability that would have prevented him from operating the leash. Police found internet searches on Snyder's computer for methods of hanging and carbon monoxide poisoning by car. Adams says that Snyder told a friend that she had had enough and does not care anymore about her kids. She is also accused of having relations with a dog. Snyder remains in custody without bail.

A precocious black bear continues to roam throughout Delaware County, making many appearances on neighborhood security cameras. The bear was first seen in Villanova on Friday morning but has since wandered through Marple, Broomall, Collingdale, and Aldan. The bear was seen on Monday, 12/2, around Springfield. If you pin point the sightings on a map, it looks like the bear is either taking Rt 320 south or more likely following along close to Darby Creek. That way it can stay hidden. Multiple police departments are on the look out as well as the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Authorities remind you to stay away from the bear if you see it and call 911. Also try to keep trash secure. The bear is most likely looking for some last minute food before hibernation.

A Chester County man was arrested on Sunday, 12/1, for trying to bring a loaded hand gun through security at Philadelphia International Airport. TSA agents found the 9 mm gun in the man's carry-on luggage. The weapon was confiscated and Philadelphia police arrested him. His name has not been released. TSA says this is the 18th gun found in carry-on luggage this year in the US.
