A Sixers fan and his wife were ejected from last night's, 10/8, preseason game at the Wells Fargo Center seemingly for showing support for Hong Kong. 33-year-old Sam Wachs attended the Philadelphia 76ers' exhibition games against the Guangzhou Loong Lions on Tuesday night, 10/8. They sat in section 124 behind the Guangzhou bench and were holding small signs that read "Free Hong Kong" and "Free HK." When security personnel saw the signs, they confiscated them telling Wachs, "no politics." Shortly after, Wachs stood up on his chair and began yelling "Free Hong Hong." That is when he and his wife were escorted out of the building. Wells Fargo said in a statement that the couple was removed "following multiple complaints from guests and verbal confrontations with others in attendance." The statement said staff "responded to a situation that was disrupting the live event experience for our guests" and that the couple had "three separate warnings." Wells Fargo Center's sign policy doesn't explicitly say "no politics," but it is left wide open to interpretation.

The NBA's relationship with China came under fire this past week after Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey tweeted support for the protestors in Hong Kong. China responded by canceling two preseason games in Shanghai involving the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers. They've also suspended broadcast and streaming deals to cover the NBA.

Philadelphia Police are investigating the rape of a Drexel University student in an off-campus apartment on Wednesday afternoon, 10/9. It happened around 12:50 p.m. on the 3200 block of Winter Street in the Powelton neighborhood. The female student described the suspect at a black male, 5' 5”, no facial hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and black sneakers. He was carrying a smartphone with a red case. He fled in an unknown direction. The Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit is investigating the incident. If you have any information contact the Special Victims Unit at 215-685-3251 or the Drexel University Police at 215-895-2222.

A Philadelphia judge overturned a murder conviction and set free a man who has been incarcerated since 1992. 54-year-old Willie Veasy has spent the past 27 years in prison after being convicted of a double murder in North Philadelphia in the early 90s. Today, 10/9, Judge Leon Tucker told Veasy, "You're a free man." The conviction was overturned because of several discrepancies. First, Veasy has a corroborated alibi that he was at work miles away at the time of the shooting. Second, the eye witness that testified at his trial allegedly is legally blind. Third, Veasy was kicked in the groin repeatedly by detectives to sign a confession. The Philadelphia District Attorney's office dropped the charges and will not retry the case.

The reward for information that leads to the whereabouts of a missing South Jersey girl is now $52,000. 5-year-old Dulce Maria Alavez went missing on September 16th from Bridgeton City Park while playing. Police believe that she was abducted. They have already received one thousand tips and had hundreds of officers searching the area on the ground, in the water, and in the air. Police have also served 50 subpoenas and investigated around 500 vehicles. Dulce has been added to the FBI's Most Wanted Missing Person's list. If you have any information call police at 856-451-0033 or text anonymously to TIP411.
