Authorities have released the response timeline for the fatal Southwest Philadelphia fire on the 6500 block of Gesner Street that killed four children on Saturday. The timeline shows that the first 911 call came in at 2:44 a.m. and the first fire truck arrived on scene at 2:49 a.m. Frustrated neighbors and members of the community have let tensions boil in the neighborhood following the deadly blaze over what Mayor Nutter has called “misconceptions” of the fire department's response. Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Derrick Sawyer said, "If that fire had been burning for 30 minutes, like everyone said, the whole block would have burned down." Nutter called on the neighborhood to help the city figure out who or what started the fire in the first place. Philadelphia hip hop star Meek Mill toured the community today, pledging his support, and promising to help the families affected by the tragic loss.

Police are investigating a crash this afternoon in North Philadelphia involving a SEPTA bus, several parked cars, and two pedestrians. At around 4 p.m. near 7th and Lehigh, the driver of a car crashed into the rear of the Route 54 bus. The vehicle continued to hit several other parked cars and finally struck two girls, ages 7 and 13, who were on the sidewalk playing. No one on the bus was injured, the driver was shaken up and taken to Temple Hospital, and the girls only had minor injuries and were taken to St. Christopher’s. No charges have been filed but the driver is suspected of DUI pending testing.

Tonight,
Partly cloudy with a chance of strong thunderstorms. Today's hot temperatures will drop behind any storm this evening.
