The Central Pennsylvania minister who officiated at his son's same-sex marriage in Massachusetts has been defrocked by the United Methodist Church. Rev. Frank Schaefer met with church officials this morning after serving a 30-day suspension for violating the church's Book of Discipline. The denomination prohibits clergy from officiating at same-sex weddings. Schaefer was given the option of following church rules or surrender his credentials. He could not do either and the panel was left to “deem his credentials surrendered.” Schaefer plans to appeal the decision.

The East Falls woman who currently lives in the former home of Grace Kelly has been found guilty in abstensia of animal cruelty. 82-year-old Marjorie Bamont was charged back on October 31 after the PSPCA responded to complaints on the animal cruelty hotline. They rescued 14 cats and 1 dog from the property on Henry Ave; another cat was found dead in the foyer. The house was described as unsanitary with fleas and feces everywhere. Bamont was convicted of 16 counts of animal cruelty. She was ordered to pay $10,000 restitution to the SPCA and a fine of $800, or $50 for each count. She cannot own an animal for 4 years. The home was built by the Grace Kelly's family in 1929. Bamont purchased the home in 1973.

A group of 50 coworkers at a New Castle County, Delaware office shared a ticket in Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot that matched five numbers, good enough for the second prize of $1 million. A representative from that lucky group of office workers claimed the prize on Wednesday afternoon. Each member's share is worth $20,000 before taxes. They have decided to remain anonymous. The ticket was purchased at the ShopRite of Four Seasons (Glasgow) located on 700 Plaza Drive in Newark. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Tonight,
Mostly Cloudy, temperatures in the upper 30's this evening in Center City
