World Meeting of Families / Papal Visit
The World Meeting of Families 2015 is being held in Philadelphia from September 22-27th. The WMOF Congress will be held from Tuesday-Friday featuring keynote speeches and breakout sessions led by prominent Catholic speakers talking on various topics related to faith, family, and society. Saturday and Sunday, Pope Francis will be visiting Philadelphia and participating in a variety of events most notably a public address at Independence Hall, the Festival of Families concert, and a Papal Mass on the Ben Franklin Parkway. There will be a number of other non-public events during his visit including mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Sts Peter and Paul, a Meeting with Bishops, and a visit to Curran-Fromhold Prison.

iradiophilly will be broadcasting keynote speeches and select breakouts from the Congress all week as well as the events during the Papal Visit. We will also be recording and podcasting those events throughout the week and making them available here.

For Archbishop Gomez, immigration is about people. As leader of the nation's largest Catholic community, he serves more than 5 million Catholics who come from every corner of the world and speak more than 40 languages. Drawing on his experience in Los Angeles, and his own experience as a Mexican immigrant and naturalized citizen, he will present the "human face" of immigration today. Archbishop Gomez will explore the cruel impact of America's broken immigration system on families and children and explain why he believes reform is essential to protect human rights and renew "the soul of America."
