Are you submitting work to galleries and art exhibits, getting ready for the craft fair season, or revamping your online portfolio? This workshop is for you. Stop paying other people for something that you can do yourself and take better photographs of your work than ever before. The workshop is divided into two parts. First, you will learn how to photograph your art – both two and three-dimensional work. We will cover using inexpensive lighting equipment, using umbrellas to soften the light, using a tripod, selecting which lenses are best for copy work, how to maximize lens sharpness, how to square your artwork with your camera's sensor or film plane, shooting through glass, using a light box, and minimizing glare and reflections. The second half will concentrate on what to do with your digital file once you've photographed your work. We'll talk through setting up a digital workflow, the advantages and disadvantages of different types of digital files (RAW, DNG, TIF, JPEG), non-destructive Photoshop techniques to improve your files – layers, straightening, cropping, improving contrast, spotting, color correction, sharpening, how to resizing files to show/gallery/exhibit specs, and much more. $63 Members/$72 Non-Members. Please register by calling 610.525.0272 or by visiting www.mainlineart.org. Minimum enrollment needed to run each program, so please don't wait to register! |
