One of the most anticipated events of the Main Line is the upcoming Haverford Music Festival. This Saturday, September 6th, the 4th annual Haverford Music Festival, presented by GIANT, will be returning to Havertown with a loaded lineup of Haverford Township talent and artists from other surrounding areas. This free-admission, all-ages festival runs from noon-9:30 pm, and features over 30 performers on four stages. Other activities include multiple food vendors, beer gardens, a cash raffle, a Moon bounce and other various children activities. In past years, the festival has drawn around 15,000 attendees.
Some of the major acts to come to town this year Beatlemania Now, a band that offers renditions of the Beatles' notorious tunes and also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' U.S. debut. Also appearing is Chico's Vibe, a nine-piece orchestra that present different musical styles from across the decades such as Etta James, Billy Joel, and the Black Eyed Peas. Members of Chico's Vibe have traveled with big name musical artists such as Beyoncé, Aretha Franklin, and The Temptations.
Other artists to play are Audra McLaughlin, Self Indulgence, Lansdowne String Quartet, Chaquis Maliq, Cabin Dogs, and David Falcone.
The festival acts as a fundraiser for the 501c2 non-profit Haverford Township Civic Council and aims to distribute proceeds to non-profit member groups in Haverford Township such as the Haverford Township Free Library, MusicWorks, Tree Tenders, the Adult School, Haverford Partnership for Economic Development, The Grange Estate, The Havertown Rotary and others.
