Bevilaqua Headline Does Not Tell the Story
  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA

Have you read the Philadelphia Inquirer headline? Bevilaqua Tried to Send Abuser to Another Diocese. By itself, the headline may suggest that the Archdiocese, and specifically its Cardinal, mis-handled abuser priests. However, the story refers to an incident that happened in the 1970’s when Bevilaqua was an Auxillary Bishop in Brooklyn. According to the story, an abuser priest wanted to return to his Brooklyn parish after finishing treatment. Bevilaqua said no. It’s important to note... Read More

Radiohead releases new album "The King of Limbs"

Radiohead's eighth album "The King of Limbs" is now here, and "shockingly" available a day earlier than announced. Whether it was Friday as it is or Saturday as it was going to be, it's how you can get it that even makes that possible. Just as the previous release, 2007's "In Rainbows", you can only get this album as a download directly from Radiohead. Unlike "Rainbows" you don't get to name your own price. (I admit I did opt to pay $0 for that one to see if it would work). Anyway, it's $9 for... Read More

Was Oprah Planning a Red Dog Blitz on Michael Vick?
  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA

What did Oprah Winfrey have up her sleeve when she invited Michael Vick to appear on her show? USA Today confirms that the show's producers were communicating with families who had adopted Vick's fighting dogs about appearing on the show. Vick got wind of the potential TV talk show ambush and said "No thanks" to Oprah. Michael Vick cannot afford to be blindsided while trying to rebuild his... Read More
Central Bucks English teacher Suspended
  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 02/10/11 2:27 pm | updated: 02/18/11 1:23 pm
A Central Bucks English teacher has been suspended pending investigation after a parent complained about her blog postings where she complained about her students. She used comments such as, "Frightfully dim," "Rat-like," "Seems smarter than she actually is." to describe some of her students. She also wished she could add "lazy", "sneaky" and "rude" to the canned report card comments teachers can choose from. She never named specfic students. Her blog has since been taken down.
