Temple University in Philadelphia announced on Thursday, 9/3, that it will be moving most classes online until the end of the fall semester due to a coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak. In-person classes were paused earlier this week due to an increase in cases, but that two-week suspension has now been extended. As of 9/3, there are 237 active cases on campus. Authorities are searching for a Delaware County man for attempting to abduct his son and stabbing another man at a South Jersey water park last month. 30-year-old Rashawn Parker Jr. of Chester is charged with attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault, violating a restraining order, child endangerment, and weapons offenses. Philadelphia Police are looking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the shooting death of a man in late July. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras in broad daylight. It happened on Friday, July 31, on the 8400 block of Williams Avenue in the Cedarbrook section. The suspect is seen running up to a black SUV firing shots. The SUV then crashed into a parked car. Gov Wolf to Let Eviction Moratorium Expire; Arrest in Deadly Crash; Suspects Wanted in Trans Assault

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf will not be extending the moratorium on evictions and foreclosures that ends today, August 31. Wolf said last week that he did not have legal authority to extend his executive order and pushed the General Assembly to pass legislation. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney is facing criticism after a photo of him apparently dining indoors at a restaurant in Maryland on Sunday, 9/30, appeared on social media. The photo shows the mayor not wearing a mask and sitting closely to others. Indoor dining in Philadelphia won't resume until Tuesday, September 8. Temple Pauses In-Person Classes After COVID Cases; Philly Warns Students: Don't Gather; PCL Canceled

Temple University announced on Sunday, 8/30, that it will 'pause' in-person classes for two weeks after identifying 103 active coronavirus COVID-19 cases on campus. The school says that most of those cases are asymptomatic and a few have mild to moderate flu-like symptoms. They say that new cases seem to be attributed to small social gatherings off campus. A mural of the late Philadelphia Sgt. Robert Wilson III in Cobbs Creek was defaced with anti-police graffiti. The mural is located on the 6000 block of Baltimore Avenue. Vandals spray painted the mural with the acronyms "ACAB" and "FTP" as well as a "circle-A" anarchy symbol. Sgt. Wilson was killed by armed robbers while inside a GameStop store in North Philadelphia on March 5, 2015. He died while protecting the other customers. Philadelphia Police are investigating after an off-duty security guard was shot at a Wawa during an altercation about social distancing in the store. It happened around 4:45 a.m. Friday, 8/28, on the 1300 block East Erie Avenue in the Juniata section.
